Enabling “Zone Editor” feature to add or modify cPanle generated record via WHM
WHM (Web Host Manager) is a tool which allows user to manage multiple cPanel-based sites. It gives the administrative access to the back end of cPanel. Therefore it is easy to manage multiple cPanels via WHM.
When you get a fresh WHM from a hosting provider, you may need to do changes to the inital configurations to use WHM without any issues. This will expalin how to enable “Zone Editor” (TXT,SRV,CAA,AAAA) feature to add or modify cPanle generated record via WHM.
Problem :
We have restored a backup of one of an account we get from another WHM to a fresh WHM. But, once we check the dns records in cPanel zone editor all the TXT records were missing. So we tried to add a TXT record manualy and then we got the below error.
Solution:
First login to WHM and search “Package”
Then click on “Feature Manager”
Now select “default” from the drop down list of “Manage feature list” and click on “Edit”
Then put a tick on “Zone Editor (AAAA,CAA,SRV,TXT)”
Now you will be able to add TXT records and other records via cPanel “Zone Manager”
